In. Wrap. Slide. Out. Off. Tight. In. Wrap. Slide. Out. Off. Tight. In. Wrap. Slide……
Oh, yeah. I forgot. Sorry, my latest accomplishment is knitting and surfing the web at the same time. Odd, huh? Well, get used to it. That’s all I’ve gotta say!
My name is Margaret Ruth Lowe. I’m The Georgia Knitter. At least, that’s what most folks in Georgia know me as. I’m rarely ever seen without my needles. Walking around the mall, stitching away. Stopping in at my home away from home, Bath and Body Works, and checking out what’s the latest fragrance, whilst I work the ribbing for that baby booty. And you know I’m stitching away in the car, at church, while I’m swimming, while I’m reading, while I’m sleeping (yes, I said I’m knitting while I’m sleeping), while I’m walking to the projects and back, while I’m walking, while I’m driving the lawn mower (no wonder my mom won’t let me get my license!), while I’m cooking, watching TV, babysitting, ya get what I’m saying. I am always knitting.
Everyone else calls me Margaret. Unless you’re one of my Savannah friends. Then ya call me Nissi. Why, I do not know. My closest friends call me Margo. Certain people call me Mogwai. My mom and Licia have been known to call me Baby B*****. And my drinkin girls, Tippi, Lynzie and Britty call me Tickles!
Yeah, I know, 17 year old young ladies should not be drinking! Yeah, whatever. I’ve heard it from my momma already with the whole “I catch you drinking, your ass is grass” deal. Well, what Momma don’t know, won’t hurt me! So there!
I have 3 helpers with my knitting. There’s Heidi ( I call her Beneheme, the Red Princess in Japanese, sometimes because well, she’s black and then there’s red, creating Blood Colours. 75% of my Family is Blood. lol). Then there’s Cougar. I call her Cookie cuz she’s got cookie crumbs for brains. Seriously. She tries to eat my toes! And I also call her Katjkaka. It’s Xhisi. No, no translations for ya’ll. Xhisi is mine and some of my friends language. So there! And then there’s my baby. Pounce. I call him Boo Bear. He hates everyone but me. Seriously. Licia, Oooooee!, just the mere mention of her name gets him hyperventilating from all the hissing. We’re not sure why seeing as she was always over here when she lived in GA.
I come from a long line of knitters. Even though only a few still knit. My Great-Grandmother made sure that all my uncles and my mother knew how to knit, sew, tat and crochet. My Aunt Ruth, technically my Great-Aunt Ruth, knits, but crochets mostly. And me, I sew and crochet. But I am absolutely insane when it comes to knitting. I LOVE KNITTING!
Now that I’m done with all my introductionary nonsense…..Stop reading this entry and get to the REAL first entry. Aiight?
